...for not posting these pictures earlier. Many on xanga have commented on puting up pictures later than they wanted to. I'm only a month behind. I guess it could be worse. Nov 15, 2008 I was able to go here to the Polk County court house to witness Elijah's adoption. When we arrived there were many other children walking around but the first thing you noticed was the HUGE tree full of stuffed animals for the children that were being adopted. Not only was the tree full of stuffed animals so were there courtrooms, as you will see in later pictures. We weren't sure if Elijah could pick out a stuffed animal right away or after the proceeding so when we got to the courtroom Elijah was ready to pick out his stuffed animal. But before he picked his attorney and social worker took him to another room to where they had kept a special stuffed animal waiting for him. We he returned this was what he was carrying. Quite a size difference compared to the other animals in the room. It was Love at first sight! Judge Coann has been proceeding over Elijah’s case since the beginning and was able to make the adoption official. She seamed like a very nice lady Ryan was asked to give testimony as well as myself and some other but when all was said and done the event was very casual. Judge Coann asked for Elijah to tell everyone "It's Official! I'm adopted!" I think he was excited. Everywhere we went the rest of the day he would tell them that he got adopted. Sunday the 16th Ryan held a party after afternoon services, with cake and even clowns! Ryan looks like he's haveing SO much fun! Ha! Elijah with his two sister that were adopted together early in the year. (They were trying to spell spot but didn't understand that they were to stay with the plate they were given, not just move the plate!) All in all it was a very nice weekend and oh I forgot to mention I was greeted with these when I first arrived! |
